Girls Night Movie #1: Baby Mama

This is the start of many of our girls night movies and the first night was filled with the comic stylings of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.  So here is our review:

Suzanne rates this: 2 hot pink high heeled shoes
Baby Mama is full of witty remarks and situations that are sure to make any girl smile.  It has unexpected plot lines that keep things moving and keeps your attention.  Although it wasn't quite as funny as the trailers made it seem, it did make us laugh out loud several times, and laughing out loud, not just smiling or chuckling, but out loud and proud, is a sure way to know if a movie is truly worth your time.  But how is it as a chick flick?  It entertains the male gender, while attending to the emotional needs of the movie watching female. And the ending makes you smile which is my criteria for whether or not I will watch it again and again! Favorite parts: showering the stinky hair out and the white trash humor throughout.  Overall, I liked it.  I would watch it again but wouldn't own it.  It's worth watching but maybe not with anyone you may blush around.

Kanien gives it 2 Heels
I find that I am not too particular when it comes to a chick flick.  Does it have a good ending, cute guy, believable story? I would have to say that Baby Mama had all of these.  I was laughing and enjoying myself throughout the whole movie.  This would be a movie I would watch again, although I am not sure it would be as funny the second time. It is one of those that once you have seen the way it ends it has lost the flame. Unlike Pride and Prejudice you know the ending, but you can watch it over and over.  Baby Mama did keep me wondering what was going to happen while enjoying the story line. I admit that I am a sucker for movies that by the end I know what is going to happen and then it actually happens the way I thought. This did just that. It does have a lot of sexual innuendos, I mean it is about a lady who gets pregnant with another ladies baby, so take it for what it is worth. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun flick, but watch it with other fellow chicks.
